University Instructors Becomes Unlimited Instruction, Reflecting Three Decades of Growth in K-12 Education
The established K-12 talent solutions and instructional services partner unveils a name reflecting three decades of growth.
RICHMOND, Va., July 13, 2026 —
University Instructors, a national K–12 talent solutions and instructional services provider supporting school districts across the nation, today announced it has changed its name to UI: Unlimited Instruction. The new name reflects the organization's evolution from a provider of classroom instructors to a comprehensive partner delivering staffing, tutoring, special education services, and enrichment programs for school districts nationwide.
The name change reflects both the growth of the organization and its belief that every district deserves unlimited possibilities for addressing today's instructional challenges. Founded more than 30 years ago, University Instructors was named for its early work connecting college students with schools. Over time, the organization evolved into a comprehensive K-12 partner providing licensed staff, specialized services, tutoring, and instructional support. The new name better reflects the organization's role today.
Today, UI supports school districts nationwide and has historically delivered more than one million instructional hours annually through staffing, tutoring, special education, and instructional support programs. The rebrand reflects both the organization's growth and the evolving needs of school districts nationwide as they navigate educator shortages, increasing student needs, and growing demands for flexible instructional support.
The transition reflects the organization's continued evolution as a full-service instructional partner for K–12 districts. "For more than 30 years, UI has helped school districts solve some of their most pressing staffing and instructional challenges, from keeping classrooms filled with strong instructors ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed academically," said Dr. James Lane, CEO of Unlimited Instruction. "Our work today extends far beyond what the name University Instructors originally represented. We partner with K–12 districts across staffing, tutoring, special education, and coaching, and our name should reflect that broader impact. While the name is changing, the people, programs, and commitment our district partners rely on remain the same, and we look forward to building on that foundation with unlimited potential for growth and impact.
While the name is new, the organization's mission remains unchanged: helping school districts ensure every student has access to high-quality instruction through exceptional people and innovative instructional solutions. For more than three decades, district leaders have trusted UI's people, programs, and services. That foundation remains unchanged, while the organization continues to grow, innovate, and create new possibilities for the schools and students it serves. The new name better reflects the breadth of support UI provides today while positioning the organization for continued growth as school districts navigate staffing shortages, learning recovery, special education needs, and other operational challenges.
